I met this couple during the first year of my business at a local wedding show in downtown Houston. An early morning in Galveston, Texas


We met at the crack of dawn, and the day was fantastic for an early spring engagement session. We were met with cool weather and a heavenly sky. For a moment, the sky was speckled with rainbow-colored tiny clouds. The beach was empty and the sand was perfectly set by the wind and the ocean. From the very beginning, the vibe was exactly what they hoped for: intimate, bright, and unhurried.


As an engagement photographer in Galveston, I always encourage couples to craft their engagement session or surprise proposals around intimate spaces. The photo session becomes like a date, and the surprise proposal becomes a story about deep intention and intimacy. We started with classic poses, utilizing inspiration from the couple's Pinterest, and then branched into movement-based prompts. Cheers to popping the question


One of my favorite parts of this session was celebrating the engagement with a bottle of prosecco. A gift for the couple from their siblings. After we cherished the moment of reenacting the beach proposal and took a stroll down the beach, we popped the bottle and made wishes to a happy marriage. Overall, this was a super fun engagement photoshoot on Galveston Island.
